School House Supplies

You may not need to purchase school supplies for your children! All week businesses around the community and School House Supplies have been delivering backpacks to children all over Portland. Schoolhouse Supplies serves classrooms in need by operating a volunteer-run free store for teachers. This is made possible by donations from local businesses in the community.

This year I was invited to come to Creston Elementary School.

Creston believes:

● All Children can learn and be successful.
● Mutual respect and appreciation for diversity creates a safe environment.
● Continuous learning is vital for all of us.
● Encouraging a vision of future success builds self-esteem and resilience.
● Consistent and high expectations enable children to succeed.
● Experiences with the arts enriches lives and enhances learning.
● Extra-curricular activities support school success.
● Community investment in our school strengthens our work.

This last statement is exactly why businesses like Vernier Software & Technology have volunteered their resources and time for the past three years. Vernier enables schools like Creston to fulfill their vision enabling children to fulfill their own.



The building was adorned with these awesome mosaics!











Each bag was decorated with a Paknak. Paknak is a brand new Portland, Oregon company created by two moms, empowering kids to decorate plain back-to-school supplies into dynamic, personalized works of art. Every PakNak comes with their own trading card. Meet Joe!

Yukie and Ryan: Engagement

It didn't take much to convince me that Yukie and Ryan are undeniably madly in love. The minute they were in front of my lens, I could not only see but feel the intimate connection they shared.

Love was in the air.

Both Yukie and Ryan grew up just hours apart from each other in Japan, but it wasn't until they flew half way across the world to come to Portland Bible College that their lives would soon be knit together.

This happy couple will be wed Saturday, September 8th, at City Bible Church.

Ashley and Jonathan: Wedding

Ashley and Jonathan were married on August 11th in their hometown,
Eatonville, Washington. One of the hottest summer days we have had here in the Northwest, the heat escalated as did the excitement of the day.

Ashley happily smiled in anticipation as every bride should on her wedding day.


We began the day at Aspara Salon, in Puyallup, Washington.


Then headed south to Eatonville Baptist Church where the ceremony would soon take place. With her friends and family by her side, Ashley couldn't have asked for better help.


Her handmade jewelry was beautiful and unique.

The wedding cake was amazing - each layer a different flavor of cheesecake - chocolate peanut butter, strawberry lemonade...yum!


Ashley and Jonathan thought through every detail. I love how Jonathan's vest matches his car!

Eatonville is very small and reminded me of home. Like most small towns, Eatonville's downtown consisted of one main street, a few abandoned cafes, and many old, decrepit buildings that hold a lot of history. History, meaning, and memories for these high school sweethearts.

We decided to take advantage...



...and to have a little fun!

What better place to end than the place they first fell in love!


Ashley and Jonathan waited a long time for this day to finally come - and it was perfect! I wish you a lifetime of happiness. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your special day!
