Three Generations, One Tradition

Brand new buildings are emerging every day. New boutiques, restaurants and cafes are bringing life downtown. But nothing is new about Caffe Umbria, a brand new Bolighus design in the new Casey Building on 12th and Everett. Although they have just opened their doors, their family roots in roasting go back to the 1940's when Ornello Bizarri built his original roastery in Perugia, Italy. Carrying on the tradition for three generations, grandson Emanuele Bizzari is building upon his grandfather's legacy. Passed down from generation to generation, Caffe Umbria is providing us with an authentic Italian cafe bar experience. Their motto, "Good coffee begins with Good Family" is proving to be true. Their newest retail store has already made the pages in the January issue of Northwest Palate. And it won't be long for them to make an impression on you too.

Here are a few images from the preparation for their grand opening...

Whether you need an italian espresso, gelato, panini, pastry, fine wine or an authentic Italian hug and kiss, Caffe Umbria is your place to go! Stay tuned for more...

Ashley & Jason: Wedding

Even the blistering cold air and wintry snowflakes could not cool down the warmth of Ashley and Jason's love. On November 24th, Thanksgiving weekend, Ashley and Jason exchanged words of blessing, happiness and commitment.

Here are some of my favorites from the day:

Some great details...

Thank you Ashley and Jason for enduring the cold. You were troopers! I wish you a lifetime of happiness.

the greatest gift

He loves me, he loves me not...

As each petal is slowly stripped away, the answer to this riddle is only revealed when a single petal remains. A question every girl asks and every girl needs to know - that she is loved. Ever since I was young I have received flowers on my birthday from the man who loves me the most - my dad. Year after year, a single reminder that his love is all I need. Love really is the greatest gift one can give and one can receive.

Genovieve

Looking forward to our time together, I think Genovieve and I both were contending with God for no rain...and God was faithful! Beautiful, confident, and charismatic, Genovieve, a senior at City Christian and a part-time college student at Portland Bible, is well beyond her years. There is nothing this girl can't do. After hitting up the Pearl we decided to take a stroll down Alberta Street, Portland’s newest arts and culture scene. We had a blast perusing the local shops, bus stops, and posing along random sculptures and park benches. Of course we couldn't resist topping off our session with a little halo thai - a vulnerability we both share:)

Here are some of my favorites from our shoot:
