The Allen Family

Last week I traveled back to my hometown of Fort Scott, Kansas for a few days to help a friend photograph her first wedding. Between shooting for local clients, cooking dinner for my parents, playing with my niece and nephews, helping out with the family business and visiting old friends, time seems to disappear. However, I did manage to sneak away and photograph my sister and her family. It was a little chilly, but you would never know from the warmth and love they share.

Here are a few of my favorites from our family session:












After prying off their little fingers one by one that are gripping my legs and holding on with all their might, I finally managed to slip away from my niece and nephew who have begged and bribed me to allow them to climb into my suitcase and fly back to Portland. About an hour on the road to Kansas City, I receive an email from my niece stating in a very serious tone that if I don't turn around and come back right now she will slap me:) Guess I have it coming upon my return!

Chelsea

Sweet. Stunning. Beautiful.

Chelsea, a high school senior will be graduating this spring with her high school diploma. This young woman's journey is unknown, but her raw talent, pure spirit, and heart of gold will take her down the road less traveled. Her final destination: success.

Lindsey and Mark: Preview

As I am finishing up Lindsey and Mark's country wedding, here is a sneak peek with more to come!

Baby Tyler

Celebrating the newest addition to their family, Emi and Dave invited me into their home to capture moments and create memories of their new son Baby Tyler. Although the gray skies and constant drizzle kept us indoors for the most part, Emi and Dave lit up the room in admiration of their little one. They couldn't be more proud.

The Holloways

Attending the same church camp, classes kindergarten through twelfth, Fifties Sock Hops and karaoke, Kelsey and I have many childhood memories we share. Her father, my optometrist, and her mom teaching with mine, it was inevitable we would become great friends. With Kelsey now living in Chicago and her younger brother Jared in Lawrence, it is not often the Holloway family is all together in one place. There is no better time to capture a family photo than over the holidays. You may not be able to tell from the images, but I could barely maneuver my camera my fingers were so frozen. The winter wind chill in Kansas is so bitterly cold. I think quite possibly this family session wins the award for the most frigid (and shortest) in KKP history. The Holloway family, however, were troopers and managed to smile:)
